Catala World Atlas 1375 Catala Atlas or Catalan Word Atlas, also known as Portolan Chart or Portolan Atlas, augmented with a great number of explanatory legends. Its originality lies in the addition of an oriental half which is not based on the experience of Mediterranean sailors, as was the case with portolan charts, but makes use of all manner of sources, including the account of Marco Polo's voyage in the late thirteenth century. Dulcert's map: http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b52503220z/f1.item There are two versions of the Catala Map: one in France and once in Madrid. The Madrid version is a copy.
